Blueberry Bagels, oh boy!

Fri Nov 6, 2009, 8:35 PM
I made it! All the way over to the other side of the world. And to a cool welcome of 10 degrees... brr!! Good thing I packed my beanie and gloves.

It's only been a couple of days so far but things are good. Oh how I missed proper blueberry bagels! The ones in Australia taste like cardboard, it makes me weep. And I've been going out on adventure walks with Hibb too. Through swamps, skirting lakes, up and down various hills. My thighs will be like steel by the time I leave. Although right now they just feel like jelly. Pained jelly.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Anybody win something on the Melbourne Cup? Or at least get a big lunch?

Oh, and since I got tagged by a couple of people to do this, here are ten facts about myself:
1. I'm a pescatarian.
2. I have a phobia of injections.
3. I can play the trumpet.
4. I haven't played it for 8 years though...
5. I like cats.
6. I broke my arm on 8th birthday.
7. I am rather perverted. I just look innocent.
8. I'm currently obsessed with Star Trek
9. I've recently become addicted to cosplaying.
10. I'm going on my first cruise in Dec.

Until the next episode...

Come fly with me, let's fly away...

Sat Oct 31, 2009, 7:30 PM
Next week in fact! Off to the US of A, again. Although I am planning some more places to visit this time around. Going to hang out with my friend there for the first part and then onto San Fransisco, Vancouver and Miami. Oooo and a cruise! I can't wait, I've never been on one before.

I'll be taking my laptop with me (I love it so, I want to put a KC sticker on it heh heh) so I'll update my journal on occasion. Whenever anything exciting happens.

And I'll see you all just before Christmas!

Wig Commissions and Cosplay Comp?

Wed Oct 7, 2009, 6:53 PM
Ok, I'm going to be ordering a couple of wigs (probably this weekend) so this is just an offer to my friends and anyone in the cosplay groups below for if they want to buy any themselves. I order off cosworx.com so just go have a look and then note me the style and colour you want. Price would be whatever the wig cost is (but AUD conversion rate) plus the a portion of the delivery fee (whatever it comes to, split between the number of people ordering). I can meet up with you later to give you the wig and collect the cash.

I might also take on some wig commissions if you're interested. I'll be out of a job next week so I'll have time to take on a few. Prices are yet to be worked out. Depends on how tricky it is and how long it'll take. I've noticed most others charge around $85-$150 (including cost of the wig). You can note me or comment if you want to ask about it.

Another thing - wow so many people are interested in joining the cosplay groups! That's fantastic! :iconuchihan-member: has mentioned she's keen on entering the cosplay comp too, maybe even do a skit. Would anyone be interested in doing that? No pressure, I'm a sissy myself. But if you want to speak up. :)

And the current lists are below. Of course more people are welcome to join if they want!

Work Updates and Waicon Group Cosplays

Thu Oct 1, 2009, 6:01 AM
In tonight's episode... a short rant about my job. Followed by some Waicon cosplay shout-outs. Whoo! Way better than whatever's on channel 7 right? Right!

So first up... I quit my job. Yes it had a very decent wage. Yes I got to work with some awesome people, and I hope I'll still get to be friends with them outside the office. But there was plenty of things I didn't like and I don't think the stress was doing my health any good. Not to mention the unpaid super... So I'm leaving and planning a nice two month holiday overseas. Cor blimey!

Then after that it'll be time to get ready for Waicon! Actually I've already started to prepare, since I won't have Nov and most of Dec to. First one is pretty much done. I'm going to go as Italy again on the Saturday. Hopefully this time with a group of other fans! (Supanova only had 2 Hetalia cosplays, and both on different days. Aww...) Want to be part of our Hetalia group? Please comment here or send me a note!

The other cosplay for Sunday is going to be another YGO one. Although this time I'm hoping to go as the under-appreciated star of the show, Yugi. (I can see you weeping in horror Hibb). The uniform is underway but plenty else still to work on, and oh lawd the hair! A couple of people mentioned they might be interested in making a group of this too. Want to be part of a YGO group? Just let me know!

Hmm... maybe I should make lists? My memory is shot...

How could they do this to me?!

Fri Jul 10, 2009, 3:58 AM
Bah! Bastards! Once again, killing off my favourite character. Whhhyyyy?
I won't say who unless you ask, don't want to spoil it.

I swear there's some hidden bug in my room or somewhere that records who I say I like in tv shows and then proceeds to kill them off. It's become such a regular occurrence now that my friends will assume any character I like will die before the end of the series. Or turn out to be gay, that's the other outcome that frequently pops up. Sometimes both.

I think I need to go find some good 'resurrection/plot twist' fanfic to cheer myself up....

P.S. I also hate it when websites have special video/audio clips and downloads that are only available in their own country. Don't they think there are fans elsewhere in the world? *sulks*

Anyone living in the UK able to download some radio plays for me? Pleeease?
