Not that there's alot going on. The weather's been chilly and damp and what with the swine flu we haven't been going out very many places. Just entertaining ourselves around the house mostly, playing katamari and doing crafty things.

Been trying some odd fruit here too. Pamello's (I think that's how they're spelt) are quite nice, taste like a mild grapefruit. And then we went to the international market and got a durian. For those not in the know, it's the size of a watermelon, hard and covered in sharp spikes. Seriously, this thing would kill you if it fell out a tree and landed on your head. But after hearing Hibb talk about it and reading the infamous reports on the smell and taste (varying from almondy-custard to rancid onions) I decided I needed to try it...

.... never again. Apparently I got one of the more potent ones because it smelled and tasted like zombie flesh. Urgh!! I had one nibble and had to wash my mouth out. Yuck. But umm, don't let me put you off trying one yourself.

More pleasant activities included catching up with a couple of times. I'm very envious of her workroom. So much space! So much fabric! Why did Australian architects never go in for basements? It's like a whole other floor to your house. She's off to the con too so I'm hoping to find her stall there. And get a photo of her Hetalia cosplay. That's actually not a bad idea a group cosplay... Oh and we also adopted a rat from her. He's black with very cute white 'gloves'. Very dapper.

Another fun game we played is what we've dubbed the 'Drawing Game' or 'Coconut Game'. Very simple. You get a bunch of cut-up pieces of paper and write names of characters on them (whichever ones you like but ones that everyone playing knows) and also other 'doing' or 'describing' words. Or even just objects. Then you put them in a container (in our case a half-coconut shell) or turned over on the floor, and take turns picking out two slips of paper. Then you draw whatever's written on them. The more insane the better! And it doesn't matter if you can't draw very well, it's just for fun. Most of the time it's the crazy ideas that we come up with that have us rolling around laughing. I'll have to scan in and upload some of the stuff we came up with.
