Young Naddja

I may have dropped some hints that I'd love a young-Beeguh prompt sometime (and then was very bad and left my own entry to the last minute) and the Okhong founders oblieged! In truth, the main reason for asking for this was because I wanted an excuse to draw my own Sami-inspired beeguh in one of their GIANT POM-POM hats! (They're real! www.smithsonianmag.com/photoco…)

So here is Náddjá, about age 5-6. She had a pretty pleasant childhood, born of two Svalbard reindeer which were part of a herd belonging to an older woman. The woman took her in and became her áhkku (grandmother). She was grateful for the company out in the snow and ice and taught Náddjá's all the skills she knew. They lived happily together, traveling and tending to the herd, until the old woman passed away.
